Slab on grade waterproofing
Challenge
Seepage was occurring on this main floor slab-on-grade, despite other repair methods. Our diagnosis was that water was seeping through the brickwork and window flashing, and then likely getting past the building paper and into the main floor suite. The tenant had been complaining of wet carpet for years.
Solution
By removing the brick work, we were able to source the issue, which was indeed a combination building paper detail along with a lack of curb wall.
We replaced the plywood, installed waterproofing to prevent seepage, and re-built the wall with proper rain screen, flashing, and new materials.
Homeowners comments are: "I really appreciate the good work, not only is the tenants carpet dry, but the wall looks really good too. Thank you very much!!"
